The Mind The Sip Coaching Academy provides professional, accredited training for aspiring mindful drinking and life coaches. Founded by Ange Chappel, creator of the Mind The Sip app, the Academy integrates evidence-based psychology, behaviour change theory, and practical coaching methodology to develop capable, ethical, and confident coaches. Through comprehensive education, structured mentoring, and a supportive learning community, the Academy prepares coaches to guide others toward greater awareness, balance, and wellbeing in both their relationship with alcohol and their broader life goals.

Graduates of the Mind The Sip Coaching Academy receive a globally recognised Accredited Award in Mindful Drinking & Life Coaching (AACT), accredited by the Association for Coaching (AC). About the Course

The Accredited Award in Mindful Drinking & Life Coaching (AACT) runs over 18 weeks of guided learning, with two built-in break weeks to support balance and reflection, for a total of 20 weeks. This 65-hour program combines class-based learning, self-study, and real coaching practice. Each week blends interactive live sessions, flexible study modules, and practical application designed to fit easily around work, family, and life’s other commitments. Weekly Zoom classrooms are scheduled at 11:30am Sydney time, intentionally positioned to support our international cohort. Live attendance is encouraged wherever possible, with full replays provided to ensure flexibility across time zones. The three rounds of supervised coaching practice are mandatory attendance, giving you hands-on experience and building confidence to coach ethically and effectively in real-world settings. New intakes commence twice a year in February and July, allowing you to choose the start date that best aligns with your personal and professional schedule. Our July 2026 course commences on Monday 20 July. Each component of the course has been carefully designed to balance theory, reflection, and applied coaching practice to help you grow as both a person and a professional.

The Mind The Sip Accredited Award runs twice a year, beginning every February and July. Enrolments are now open for our July 2026 cohort. Commencing Monday 20 July. Course access opens one week prior on 13 July, so you can get familiar with the platform before Week 1 begins.

Ange Chappel Founder, Mind The Sip Coaching Academy Certified Coach & Educator After transforming her own relationship with alcohol, Ange created Mind The Sip - a mindful drinking app helping thousands of people change how they think about alcohol through practical tools, resources, and community connection. Drawing on her background in education, communication, and coaching, Ange developed the Accredited Award in Mindful Drinking & Life Coaching (AACT) to fill a gap in professional training within the mindful drinking space. Her teaching approach combines evidence-based learning with compassion and lived experience. Through the Academy, Ange supports aspiring coaches to grow in confidence, strengthen their coaching presence, and create meaningful change in others’ lives, all while maintaining balance and authenticity in their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior coaching experience to enrol? No. This course is designed for both aspiring and emerging coaches. You’ll be supported from the fundamentals of coaching through to advanced practice, so no prior experience is required. How much time will I need each week? The program runs for 20 weeks (including two break weeks) and totals around 65 hours. You’ll spend less than four hours per week across live sessions, self-study, and reflection activities. What if I can’t attend the live sessions? Weekly Zoom classrooms are scheduled within a lunchtime window. If you can’t make a session, replays are available so you can catch up at your own pace. The only mandatory live components are the three rounds of supervised coaching practice. Is the course accredited? Yes. The Accredited Award in Mindful Drinking & Life Coaching (AACT) is formally accredited by the Association for Coaching (AC), giving you professional recognition aligned with international coaching standards. When do new intakes start? New cohorts commence twice a year, in February and July. Spaces are limited to maintain a supportive learning environment, so early enrolment is recommended. Will I be listed inside the Mind The Sip app after graduation? Yes. Graduates who meet all program requirements and demonstrate ethical, professional practice are invited to be featured inside the Mind The Sip app as a Trusted Coach. What support will I receive after completing the course? You’ll have continued access to your course materials and any future updates, and you’ll be invited to join the Mind The Sip Coaching Academy Hub — a private online space for Certified Coaches to stay connected, share resources, and access ongoing professional development. Can I start my own coaching business after completing the course? Absolutely. The program equips you with the tools, structure, and confidence to establish your own coaching practice, or to integrate mindful drinking and lifestyle coaching into your existing work.
